History of the town
Ourense is known as the Thermal Capital of Galiza. The town was founded by Romans almost two thousand years ago. The Romans gave the city the name Aqui Auriensis, meaning golden waters. Recently, the roman swimming pool has been rehabilitated. Tourists and citizens can enjoy Burgas thermal water in open air. The Ourense thermal springs are effective in a number of medical conditions: rheumatism, skin problems, digestives problems, muscular problems, etc.

Activities
Different festivals, exhibitions and activities are organized:
