South Africa, Tibetan exiles, Zanzibar, Cambodia, Algiers, Namibia, and Guatemala are all distant destinations and subjects on which she has produced books and documentaries, mixing depictions of real life with stories. But her explorations also take her to the street corner, to the Moquette, a different and innovative shelter for the homeless and other marginalised sections of society.
